Andiamo! provides specialist technical translation for Southco Manufacturing Ltd.
Southco is a specialist manufacturer of latches, hinges, handles and pulls. The company’s primary focus is on quality and customer satisfaction and their products are sold in a range of industries such as automotive, aerospace, marine, medical and railway.
Southco used to rely on in-house linguists to translate their material but due to rapid growth, this option was no longer sustainable. Southco approached Andiamo! over 15 years ago as we have significant technical experience in the automotive and engineering industries and we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality translations.
After signing a contract with Southco, we selected and tested our most highly experienced technical suppliers. Our specialist translators not only have the technical knowledge required but are also able to replicate the style of the copy in a marketing context. Using regular translators is important because it ensures consistency of style and terminology and as the translators are continually researching the products, they become more and more familiar with them.
When Andiamo! began working with Southco, translation memory software was not yet available to translators and language service providers. At the beginning, Andiamo! kept large terminology glossaries to ensure consistency across translated material. When Trados was introduced, Andiamo! invested immediately and spent time aligning all previously translated material for Southco in order to further improve consistency and also reduce turnaround times. Ever since, we have continued to modify and update translation memories after each project, ensuring consistency and therefore excellent quality.
Andiamo! continues to work regularly with Southco, providing translations of product descriptions for their print and online catalogues as well as translations of press releases, e-alerts and blogs.
“We have used Andiamo! for many years and they are providing excellent service to us. Both their customer service as well as the quality of translations are excellent.”
